Celebrity Secrets: Michelle Keegan shares her beauty, health and style tips
Which beauty products do you swear by?
I love Chanel Soleil Tan, which you can apply all over your face.
If you’re on holiday, you don’t have to wear any base with it and you can build on it to make it look darker or you can use it as a contour.
I put tinted moisturiser on and put that over the top.
I also carry a good lip balm and Laura Mercier hand cream.
Do you have any top beauty tips?
I have microblade eyebrows – which is semi-permanent and a bit like tattooing them on – and it can look quite fake.
But if you want a more natural way to get fuller brows, use a clean mascara brush and lightly apply wet soap to thicken and shape them.
What’s your signature fragrance?
At the moment I’ve gone very old school and I’m using Cerruti 1881.
If you could change one part of your body, what would it be?
As women, we’re never one hundred per cent about our bodies but I’d rather not point out my flaws!
Is there anything you didn’t like when you were younger but now embrace?
My teeth, because I got them fixed. I used to have really bad teeth and I was conscious of them.
I never used to smile in pictures. Also my ears are quite big, but I don’t care any more and I embrace them now.
How do you pamper yourself?
I do like getting my nails done, that’s a treat for me.
Sometimes, my mum and I will have a spa day, too.
We haven’t done that for ages, but it’s on the agenda.
What’s the best piece of fashion advice you’ve ever been given?
Dress for you, not for other people.
You can follow trends and fashion but take pieces and ideas and make them your own.
Also, if I see someone wearing something that they feel confident in, it always looks cool.
What’s your style “don’t”?
Over-accessorising.
I love my jewellery and, if I could, I would wear necklaces, earrings, something in my hair and loads of bracelets.
But keeping things simple works best.
Have you had any fashion disasters?
Oh yeah. I look back at pictures and think, “Why did I wear that?” But when I was wearing it I thought it was really nice.
How has your style changed over the years?
I keep it simple and classic these days, with a pair of nice jeans, a white T-shirt and flats in the day.
Keeping it simple is key.
