After much mystery about whether Ryan Reynolds would don the homemade superhero suit once again, Deadpool fans have finally been granted their wish.

The Deadpool 2 trailer stirred up fan excitement, and the movie is predicted to perform well after test screenings.

When is Deadpool 2 released?

A Marvel X-Men spin-off, the first Deadpool film was a huge hit in 2016, making more than $780m (£575m) worldwide.

Deadpool premiered on May 10, 2018 at Leicester Square Cinema in London.

The film is scheduled for general release on May 16, 2018.

What is Deadpool 2 about?

Wade Wilson returns as Deadpool, but this time he teams up with X-Men mutants.

Alongside Bedlam, Shatterstar and Domino, Deadpool takes on the duty of protecting a boy from the all-powerful Cable.

Cable is an X-Men villain who first appeared in the comic-verse in the 1990s.

Up to all his old tricks, and coming up with more great hybrid swearwords, Deadpool somewhat reluctantly becomes part of a team.

Who is in Deadpool 2?

Ryan Reynolds is reprising his role as the title character in the movie.

His girlfriend Vanessa returns, played by Morena Baccarin of Firefly and Homeland fame, as an escort.

Main baddie Cable is played by Josh Brolin, a time travelling cybernetic mutant soldier.

New faces added to the cast include Terry Crews, former American football player and actor in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, as mutant Bedlam.

Lewis Tan joins as Shatterstar, and Atlanta actress Zazie Beetz plays Neena Thurman/Domino.

Other cast members include Rob Delaney as the mysterious Peter, Bill Skarsgård as Zeitgeist, and Eddie Marsan in a still unknown role.
