Deadpool 2 star opens up on THAT ‘weird and shocking’ cameo moment (SPOILERS)

WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Deadpool 2.

Despite appearances from famous faces like Brad Pitt and Hugh Jackman, it’s the arrival of the entire cast of the current X-Men movies that has arguably gone down the best.

And Evan Peters, who plays Quicksilver, has revealed that he expected their appearance to be part of a post-credits sequence.

In the end, however, it fell much earlier in the movie.

He said, according to Cinema Blend: “We did a bunch of different versions, some not PG, and they ended up using that one.

“I thought it was going to be for the end credits – and I think everybody kinda did – but it ended up being like, boom, right there sort of in the first half of the film. Which was really sort of weird and shocking.”

The X-Men stars weren’t actually ever on set at the same time as Ryan Reynolds, which makes their confusion over what exactly they were filming all the more understandable.

The moment was shot on the set of X-Men: Dark Phoenix and then later digitally inserted into Deadpool 2.

Deadpool 2 is projected to make another $20 million in the US this week, keeping it in the Top 2 for the third consecutive week.

It has faced criticism, however, and yesterday David Leitch (director) responded to backlash for killing off his apparent female lead, Vanessa, in the first act.

“I understand where [upset fans are] coming from,” he told ComicBook.com.

“As a filmmaker, I believe I have a record of strong female characters and proactive female characters.

“But with Deadpool it’s different. It’s Deadpool’s movie, and you need to take everything away from him to humanise him.

“He can be grating and he can be sort of offensive and he can be all these things, but you need an emotional hook that grounds the movie that we can go on this journey with this character and experience Deadpool.”
