Deadpool Guardians of the Galaxy crossover – Ryan Reynolds and James Gunn are KEEN
While hopes of a Wolverine crossover appear as dead and buried as Hugh Jackman’s Logan, Deadpool may be able to crossover with other Marvel characters.
Anyone up for Deadpool…in Space? Well Guardians of the Galaxy director Gunn seems keen.
Yesterday the filmmaker tweeted his praise for Deadpool 2, thanking Reynolds.
He wrote: “Yesterday I finally saw @deadpoolmovie 2, which I loved, and also the brilliant #Revenge.
“Two completely different, fantastic films – cinema’s alive!
“Thanks @DavidMLeitch @VancityReynolds [Ryan Reynolds Twitter account] @coraliefargeat @MatildaLutz for a great day at the movies.”
Reynolds responded: “Thank you James! Crossover?”
Before Gunn replied with: “Yes, please.”
Of course the two Hollywood superhero movie helmers could just be joking, but a Deadpool Guardians crossover certainly isn’t impossible.
After all, Disney have purchased the rights to 20th Century Fox, who own the X-Men and Fantastic Four.
Gunn is currently busy with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t be involved in a future Deadpool movie.
It’s not clear at present if Deadpool will enter the MCU or just remain on the sidelines of the universe, making subtle meta jokes.
But surely a Star-Lord cameo in X-Force of Deadpool 3 isn’t out of the question? Or what about Gunn as director?
