Deadpool Wolverine movie: Hugh Jackman FINALLY responds to Ryan Reynolds' pleas – WATCH
The 49-year-old Aussie bowed out as Wolverine in last year’s Logan, but the Deadpool star has been trying to convince him to come out of retirement.
Last week Reynolds said: “I think convincing Hugh [to return] would be a near-impossible feat, but there’s no human being I love more than Hugh Jackman in that universe, and equally so as a friend. He’s just the best.
“I already miss him as Logan, so I’m one of those guys that whenever I see him, I’m like, ‘Come on, man. Just one more. Come on. We’ll do it together. It’ll be fun. Come on! On three. Here we go, together. One, two, three, together,’ and it’s always just me saying it.”
Now Jackman has responded to the Deadpool 2 actor’s pleas of a team up.
Speaking with TMZ, Jackman said: “Ship has sailed Ryan. Sorry brother.”
The Wolverine star was also asked on GMA and said: “Ryan…back it up a little.
“Play a little hard to get. It’s too much. It’s not sexy.”
Despite saying he’s done with the role, Jackman certainly considered the idea of a Deadpool Wolverine movie back in January 2017.
He said: “I’m hesitating, because I could totally see how that’s the perfect fit. But the timing may be wrong.”
But since then the Aussie star has admitted he’s ready to see another actor take on the role.
While the news may be disappointing to Reynolds and fans, Jackman has praised Deadpool 2.
In a video on his Instagram, he said: “I’m gonna say this once, and then delete it… really quickly: Deadpool 2 is a work of genius.
Jackman added: “It is epic. It is… dammit, can’t believe I said it.”
Deadpool 2 is released in UK cinemas on May 15, 2018.
