On August 16, 1977, the King of Rock ’n’ Roll tragically died of a heart attack at just 42-years-old.

Weighing an incredible 25 stone, Elvis’ health had been going down hill for some time with his regular intake junk food and addition to prescription drugs.

Forty years on and music, film and popular culture still fell the massive impact of this 20th century icon.

On June 26, 1977, Elvis performed his last ever concert at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis.

The last song he performed in his set was Are You Lonesome Tonight, which he sings with his usual gusto.

However it’s hard not notice the toll of his lifestyle that would result in his untimely death just a couple of months later.

Elvis looks overweight and generally unwell, but it wasn’t enough to stop the King singing his heart out, not short of his famous humour.

Fans will be able to see 35 of his most famous jumpsuits and costumes, his guitars from the period, and tour equipment like his golden microphone and that famous Las Vegas belt.

Tickets for Elvis On Tour: The Exhibition go on sale Friday at 9am .
