It’s one of Britain’s best-loved rom-coms and now Four Weddings and a Funeral is getting a sequel. Following on from 2017’s , Curtis’ short film sequel to Love Actually, comes One Red Nose Day and a Wedding. The follow-up is currently in production and will reunite the cast of Four Weddings for the first time in 25 years. Those returning for the Comic Relief special includes Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, Kristin Scott Thomas, John Hannah, Rowan Atkinson, James Fleet, David Haig, Sophie Thompson, David Bower, Robin McCaffrey, Anna Chancellor, Rupert Vansittart, Simon Kunz, Sara Crowe and Timothy Walker.

Sadly Simon Callow won’t be returning since his character’s death was the funeral mentioned in the first film’s title.

The original cast will be joined in the short film by some very special guest stars.

Curtis has written the script, while Four Weddings director Mike Newell is returning to helm the project.

In a statement, Curtis said: “We’re all definitely older – I suspect no wiser.”

He added: “It’s been really enjoyable working out what’s happened to all the characters.

“And now they get back together for the fifth wedding. Where, as usual, not everything will go as planned.”

So just who will be getting married in the sequel?

Fans will remember Grant and McDowell’s Charles and Carrie decided to not get married, but just be partners.

Nevertheless, there are some other likely candidates if it’s not them tying the knot.

Fans will remember the film’s end credits revealed which of the characters ended up getting hitched.

Most got married, while poor old Fiona, played by Kristin Scott Thomas, was left sidelining up to Prince Charles.

If not her, then perhaps John Hannah’s Matthew, who found a new boyfriend after Gareth’s death, will have a gay wedding.

One Red Nose Day and a Wedding will air on BBC One on March 15, 2019.
