Disney Pixar’s Incredibles sequel beings at the precise moment the 2004 Incredibles movie ended.

The Incredible Parr family are still acting as superheroes, despite the new law making supers illegal, all with a new baby by their side.

Can Incredibles 2 trigger seizures?

Incredibles 2 is already breaking box office records after its Friday, 15 June opening in America.

But in the wake of its debut weekend, some viewers posted on Twitter their fear a specific scene in Incredibles 2 could cause seizures.

The risk of a seizure happening during the scene is particularly high for those with epilepsy, migraines or chronic illnesses.

The Incredibles 2 scene viewers are worried about is a fight scene between Elastigirl and Screenslaver.

The scene has sudden, bright flashing lights which can induce or cause seizures.

A statement was issued by The Epilepsy Foundation over the worries some people with epilepsy could have a seizure during Incredibles 2.

The Epilepsy Foundation’s statement read: “Members of our community have expressed concerns about flashing lights in the new Disney Pixar movie ‘Incredibles 2,’ and, in certain instances, people having experienced a seizure during the movie.”

The statement added: “We appreciate the efforts some theatres have already made to post warning signs for people waiting to see the movie.”

Some cinemas in America already showing the Incredibles sequel have taken the matter into their own hands and are putting up warning signs.

The below photo, taken by a cinemagoer in Columbus, Ohio brought the issue to the attention of Disney itself.

Disney released a memo, which has since been shared on social media.

“Incredibles 2 contains a sequence of flashing lights, which may affect customers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitivities,” Disney’s statement reads.

The Epilepsy Foundation added: “For about three percent of people with epilepsy, exposure to flashing lights at certain intensities, or with certain visual patterns, can trigger seizures.

“This condition is known as photosensitive epilepsy and it’s more common in children and adolescents, especially those with generalized epilepsy and a type known as juvenile myoclonic epilepsy.”

Incredibles 2 has broken one box office record so far and has now had the biggest opening weekend of any animated film.

UK fans only have a few more weeks to wait; Incredibles 2 will be in UK cinemas on Friday, July 13 release date.
