Mamma Mia 2: Did YOU spot the actor who appeared in the past AND present storylines?

Eagle-eyed viewers have spotted at least one extra who pops up in multiple sequences, regardless of when and where they’re set.

Given the movie’s roots in musical theatre, it’s no surprise that the same ensemble members are used throughout.

But fans have still had a great time tipping their hat to the performer on Twitter since spotting him in multiple decades.

Teen Vogue has identified him as Justin Thomas, after Twitter user Tom Zohar sparked a mini-frenzy.

“I hope Mamma Mia 3 follows the story of this gentleman who somehow opened a portal that allowed him to exist in two different timelines,” Zohar quipped.

“He’s the hardest working person in that movie.”

Someone else quipped: “I blame Cher, if she can turn back time there’s no telling what other space-time-dimensional hijinks she can do.”

The film has continued to entertain audiences worldwide, with the soundtrack album leading a narrow race for the Number One spot on this week’s UK charts.

If it is announced as the week’s best-seller later today, it will mark its second frame on the throne – after it ascended to pole position last week.

It was recently revealed that one of the most popular musical set-pieces in the film – the finale, Super Trouper – was only added at the last minute.

Producer Judy Craymer said bosses were unsure what song should close the film, after ABBA themselves vetoed an umpteenth reprisal of Dancing Queen.

Craymer described the anthem as “embracing everybody”, including the audience.

“The key to Mamma Mia is that the audience has to feel they’re part of it, and I think that’s the moment I hope they do,” she told IndieWire.
