Princess Eugenie looks similar to Queen Mother – will she wear her tiara for her wedding?

Princess Eugenie, 28, will marry Jack Brooksbank, 31, on 12 October 2018 in a royal wedding ceremony.

There has been speculation about which tiara she will wear on her special day. It is customary for royal brides to wear a tiara passed down through the Royal Family for their big day.

Princess Eugenie bears a close resemblance to the Queen Mother – the late mother of Queen Elizabeth II, 92.

Does this mean she will be given one of the Queen Mother’s tiaras for her wedding day?

Some think Princess Eugenie will wear the York tiara on her wedding day, which was gifted to her mother Sarah Ferguson upon her wedding to Prince Andrew in 1983.

However, it might be Eugenie wears a piece from the Queen’s personal collection instead.

A tiara associated with her lookalike great-grandmother would be a touching choice.

There are three main tiaras associated with the Queen Mother, who was born Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.

The Queen Mary Fringe Tiara

The Queen Mary Fringe Tiara was originally a necklace gifted by Queen Victoria to Queen Mary in 1919.

The latter subsequently turned it into a tiara, which she gave to the Queen Mother in 1936.

It was worn by Queen Elizabeth II on her wedding day, and is now part of her collection.

The Lotus Flower Tiara

This tiara also began its life as a necklace – it was given to the Queen Mother as a wedding present in 1923.

However, months later, she turned it into a tiara with the help of jeweller Garrard.

It has been worn by a number of royals over the years, including Kate Middleton and Princess Margaret.

The Cartier Halo Scroll Tiara

This was gifted by George VI to his wife the Queen Mother just after he became King.

However, as it is still fresh in people’s memories as the tiara Kate Middleton wore for her 2011 wedding day, it is unlikely Princess Eugenie will wear this one.

Earlier today, Eugenie stepped out in a Meghan Markle wedding inspired outfit at the Royal Ascot.

The bridal shade was a nod to her upcoming wedding to Jack Brooksbank, 31.

It was also a homage to the go-to sartorial colour scheme of Meghan Markle, 36.

The Duchess of Sussex has been pictured in pale shades ever since her 19 May wedding to Prince Harry, 33.

Princess Eugenie wore an all-white coat dress by Osman Studio which costs £2,052.
