This morning, , saying on X: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C”

But royal fans did not let any ‘manipulation’ claims hide their excitement over the royal’s new picture, with several praising her for her brilliant style choice.

The Princess of Wales sat on a chair and wore a blue pair of skinny jeans, a navy blue button cuff turtleneck by Zara and a Bella Hoskyns bomber jacket in olive green with charcoal trim (£385). Princess Kate went casual chic for her Mother’s Day picture.

The future Queen finished the look with a pair of See by Chloe suede ankle boots. Kate was praised for supporting British designers like Bella Hoskyns.

One user wrote on X: “The Princess of Wales really champions UK brands. I had never considered wearing such a jacket before. Now looking for something similar.”
