Roma is a 2018 drama film written, directed, co-produced, co-edited and photographed by Alfonso Cuarón.

Cuarón may be best known for his work on Gravity, Children of Men, and Y Tu Mamá También.

In April 2018, Netflix acquired the rights to Roma, which had its premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

When is Roma out in Cinemas?

Roma will have its own limited theatrical engagement from November 21 in Los Angeles, New York and Mexico.

From November 29, the run will expand through other big US cities and London.

From December 7, the movie will get further international releases.

Then, on December 14 Roma will be released on Netflix with a further expanded theatrical release in the US and globally.

What is the plot of Roma?

Roma takes place in Mexico City and is set in the 1970s.

The movie is a semi-autobiographical work which details the life of a middle-class family and their live-in housekeeper, Cleo.

The story takes place over a year in the life of the family, set against the backdrop of the political unrest between 1970-1971.

Rotten Tomatoes gives it a score of 99 percent.

Who is in the cast of Roma?

Yalitza Aparicio plays Cleo, the family’s live-in housekeeper.

Marina de Tavira plays Sofia, the matriarch of the family.

Fernando Grediaga plays Antonio, Sofia’s husband and a doctor, with whom she has a strained relationship.

Verónica García plays Teresa, Sofia’s mother who also lives with the family.

Nancy García plays Adela, another maid and Cleo’s friend.

Jorge Antonio Guerrero plays Fermín, Cleo’s boyfriend.

The three young children are Toño played by Diego Cortina Autrey, Paco played by Carlos Peralta, and Sofi played by Daniela Demesa.
