Star Wars SHOCK: Anakin Skywalker’s FATHER revealed in official Darth Vader comic

Since Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars fans have been wondering who Anakin’s father is. His mother Shmi made it clear he didn’t have one and it’s long been rumoured that the future Darth Vader was formed via the Dark Side’s manipulation of Midi-chlorians; intelligent microscopic life forms inside the cells of all life. Now the 25th issue of the official Dark Vader comic from Marvel has confirmed this to be true. But also it’s revealed exactly who on the Dark Side ensured the birth of Anakin i.e. his father.

Spotted by Screen Rant, the comic reveals that Emperor Palpatine aka Darth Sidious personally made sure that Shmi Skywalker would get pregnant with Anakin via the manipulation of Midi-chlorians.

This technically means an ‘Anakin, I am your father” moment that Palpatine never had with Darth Vader.

The news has massive implications for the Star Wars canon as it means that Darth Sidious is the grandfather of Luke and Leia.

But this also makes sense in him being the great-grandfather of troubled Kylo Ren.

According to Screen Rant, this means Qui-Gon chose Anakin because of the light and darkness inside him.

In The Phantom Menace, he tells the Jedi Council of the decision: “It was the will of the Force, of that I have no doubt.”

So when Qui-Gon says he believes Anakin is the one to bring balance to the Force, to the Jedi Council this means one who will defeat the darkness to leave only light.

However, Qui-Gon died before he could train Anakin, and Obi-Wan Kenobi was unaware of this lesson. Therefore, Qui-Gon is the only one who could have saved Anakin in Revenge of the Sith.
