Last Christmas Rian Johnson’s follow up to The Force Awakens hit cinemas only to divide fans.

Many took to social media to express their distain for the film, even calling it “awful.”

Since then Hamill, who stars in Episode VIII as Luke, has taken a number of jibes at the movie.

And his latest appears to subtly imply that The Last Jedi ruined some Star Wars fans’ childhood.

Hamill added: “And like you say, it was brief enough that I was — [chuckles]

“They had time for me to milk that big alien but to show any human emotion? Nah, we don’t have time for that. But again it’s not my call.”

Despite his criticisms of the movie, the actor has said he wants to return as a Force ghost in Star Wars Episode IX.

Although most recently he said he didn’t care about returning as Luke.

He said: “You were asking earlier, ‘are you gonna be back’… I don’t care anymore on that level. Because Han Solo is gone, Luke is gone.

“You just can’t get the band back together the way you wanted it to be, and it shouldn’t be that way. It is what it is.”

Star Wars Episode IX will be released in UK cinemas on December 20, 2019.
