The soundtrack to the hit musical, starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Keala Settle and Zendaya, had been at the summit for a mammoth 11 weeks.

In that time it had set a slew of records, and matched a record previously set by Adele.

Now, however, Ezra’s new record Staying At Tamara’s has forced it down to Number 2.

The Official Charts Company have confirmed that the new release sold a combined total of 63,000 copies this week, making it the biggest debut of 2018 so far.

Ezra said: “It’s incredible to think that the album is now out and in people’s cars, homes and soundtracking people’s lives.

“For it to have made it to number one is so amazing! I still can’t quite get my head around it.”

Staying At Tamara’s now matches Ezra’s previous album Wanted On Voyage, which hit No1 back in 2014.

The sophomore LP has already spawned the hit single Paradise, which has peaked within the UK Top 5.

The Greatest Showman still has a lot to celebrate: it came out before Christmas and is STILL playing in many UK cinemas.

Its worldwide box office gross of almost half a billion dollars is far, far greater than expected when it made a modest debut in its opening weekend.

Remarkably it was also met with a lukewarm reception from critics, scoring only 55% on Rotten Tomatoes.
