Jordan Peele has irrevocably changed the face of not only horror but cinema in general and this is all for the better, with his particular brand of clever horror. His latest cinematic effort is called Us, and save for a poster, there have been scant details released. But now a brand new trailer has dropped, and you can watch it here.

Is there a trailer for Us?

Yes, there is, and you can watch it right here.

The trailer shows the trials of the Wilson family and gives a brief overview of the plot.

At the screening of the trailer, Peele gave a statement via video in which he said he wanted to create “horror mythology.”

He added that the takeaway message from Us was: “we are our own worst enemy.”

What is the Us release date?

In both the USA and UK, Us is out in cinemas on March 15, 2019.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in February, Peele he was writing a film for Universal Pictures later that year.

The title for the upcoming horror movie was revealed as Us in May.

The budget for Us tallied up at £19.4 million (24.6 m) according to the California Film Commission Film and Television Tax Credit Program.

What is the plot of Us?

The official synopsis reads: “A mother and a father take their children to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends.

“But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.”

The trailer gives a glimpse into who those shocking visitors are, but not much else.

Ahead of the trailer screening, Peele said he wanted to put a black family at the centre of a horror movie, but the film is not about race.

Who stars in the cast of Us?

Lupita Nyong’o stars as Adelaide Wilson.

Winston Duke plays her husband Gabe Wilson.

Shahadi Wright-Joseph plays Adelaide and Gabe’s daughter, with Evan Alex as Adelaide and Gabe’s son.

Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker play Mr and Mrs Tyler, the friends who the Wilsons visit.

Also in the cast are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Anna Diop, Madison Curry, Cali Sheldon, Noelle Sheldon, Duke Nicholson, and Kara Hayward as Nancy and Nathan Harrington as Glenn.

Us is out in UK cinemas on March 15, 2019.
