xXx star Deepika Padukone’s next movie role revealed? ‘She LOVES it’
The Bollywood star, who made her Hollywood bow with the Vin Diesel-starring action movie earlier this year, is seemingly set to appear in a new thriller.
Badlapur 2, the sequel to 2013’s Badlapur, is to be produced by Dinesh Vijan – who has cast Padukone before, to great success.
Whilst the first film was fronted by Varun Dhawan, this one will press the reset button.
“A sequel to Badlapur, with a female protagonist and a completely new cast, is being planned,” a source told DNA.
“Dinesh has bounced the idea off to Deepika and she has loved it.
“It’s a character-driven role, just like Varun’s was in Badlapur.”
It seems the deal isn’t quite finalised yet, though, with the insider adding: “The script isn’t ready yet and once that’s done, the producer will give the actress a full narration and get her dates blocked for the film.”
For now, Padukone is still filming for Padmavati, and was also claimed last month to have signed up for another exciting movie.
What’s more, xXx director DJ Caruso recently told Express.co.uk that he is planning on making another movie in the franchise.
“Yeah, we’re discussing the story and how to make that all work, and which characters,” he said.
“[We’re] trying to get everyones schedules to line up again. It’s definitely a discussion because it did so well around the globe.”
