Avengers: Muslim superhero Ms Marvel CONFIRMED – Priyanka Chopra to star as Kamala Khan?

Brie Larson may be entering the franchise as Captain Marvel next year, but another female superhero is also on the cards.

Avengers Infinity War producer Feign recently had an interview with the BBC where he was asked about the inclusion of Ms. Marvel, a Muslim superhero, in future MCU movies.

He said: “Captain Marvel’s shooting right now with Brie Larson.

“Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely sort of in the works.”

Feige added: “We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”

In the comics Ms Marvel’s alter-ego is Kamala Khan, a Pakistani American teenager from New Jersey.

An Inhuman with shapeshifting abilities, she becomes Ms Marvel when her idol Carol Danvers, who Larson plays in the MCU, becomes Captain Marvel.

But just who could play the first Muslim superhero in the franchise?

Well Chopra voices the character in MARVEL: Avengers Academy, a mobile video game, and now fans are backing her for the live-action role.

One fan tweeted: “We are here for Priyanka Chopra playing the role. You can take all of my money.

While another said: “They better cast Priyanka Chopra. W’re dying to see her in a Marvel movie. Cast her sisters.”

Last year Marvel comics vice president of sales blamed “diversity” for sales decline.

In an interview, he said: “They didn’t want female characters out there. That’s what we heard, whether we believe that or not. 

“I don’t know that that’s really true, but that’s what we saw in sales.”
