Weisz, 48, revealed the news and told the New York Times: “I’ll be showing soon. Daniel and I are so happy. We’re going to have a little human. We can’t wait to meet him or her. It’s all such a mystery.”

This means Craig is going to be a father for the second time at 50.

The actor has never hidden his reservations about continuing with the Bond franchise and the next movie was already confirmed to be his last.

Now that he has a baby on the way, will the intensely private star decide to withdraw from Bond 25?

With the upcoming Bond 25 expected to hit cinemas in November 2019, it will be a complicated time to shoot and promote such a major and time-consuming movie whiel also also welcoming a new child into his family.

William Hill is already reducing the odds that Craig will quit as OO7.

The British bookies are offering odds of 10/1 that “Daniel Craig takes no part in next Bond film.”

Tom Hardy was a long term favourite to take over but a the latest odds have another posh blond as Craig’s replacement.

William Hill have McMafia and Grantchester hunk James Norton at 2/1 with Tom Hardy at 3/1.

Relative unknown Jack Huston follows at 4/1 with previous hot favourite Idris Elba slowly slipping back at 6/1.

A spokesman for William Hill said: “It is no secret that the producers had to twist Daniel Craig’s arm to stay on as Bond and this announcement could just dampen his enthusiasm even more. The odds suggest that James Norton needs to dust off the DJ as he might need it sooner than he thinks.”

Bond 25 currently has a November 8 release date for the US with no date confirmed for the UK.

There has been constant talk that the movie might be delayed yet again.

Director Danny Boyle already has another project to complete first, a Richard Curtis romantic comedy which is scheduled for a September 2019 release. Variety has already speculated this would make it likely Bond 25 could be pushed back into 2020.

Bad news for Bond fans but with a silver lining that it might give Craig some breathing space to welcome his new child before he starts works on his final outing as the British spy.
