Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry, 33, is one of the most exciting events in this year’s royal calendar.

The actress, 36, will marry the royal in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

After being taken from the church in a horse and carriage procession the couple will have a reception at Frogmore House with 250 guests.

Meghan Markle’s wedding dress is thought to be being designed by Ralph & Russo, and could be worth around £40,000.

Meghan Markle’s wedding flowers will already form a tribute to Princess Diana, but will she take any more inspiration from previous royal weddings?

Sarah Ferguson’s wedding dress

Sarah Ferguson’s wedding dress for her wedding to Prince Andrew followed a fairly classic design with typical 80s poof sleeves.

The dress was designed by Lindka Cierach and was made from ivory duchesse satin.

It featured a scoop neckline and a 17 foot long train which had embroidery bees and thistles, representative of her family crest.

Anchors and waves were also sewn into the train to represent Prince Andrew’s sailing.

With her dress the duchess also wore her new York Diamond Tiara, £220,000, commissioned specifically for her by the Queen.

Fergie in her 1997 autobiography the gown was: “An exquisite creation I’d lost twenty-six pounds to fit into. Lindka was a genius; I knew she could make the most flattering gown ever, and she had. It was amazingly boned, like a corset.”

Princess Diana’s wedding dress

Lady Diana Spencer’s wedding dress was far larger in scale than Fergie’s, which is more fitting for first born heir to the Royal Family.

The dress, made by David and Elizabeth Emanuel, was made from ivory silk taffeta and antique lace gown.

It was then valued at £9,000, which is around £32,829 in today’s money.

The lavish gown had a 25 foot long train and had over 10,000 pearls.

The dress is currently in the possession of Prince Harry, 33, and Prince William, 34.

Meghan Markle is ‘nervous’ ahead of her royal wedding, according to an insider.

It is not the wedding ceremony itself that is worrying her, but the royal family life that follows, the insider told Express.co.uk in an exclusive interview.

“Meghan is nervous – not the wedding itself but getting used to the royal family.”

“Obviously the last time they were all together was at Christmas, and she coped really well.”

Prince Philip may miss the royal wedding thanks to his “very independent” personality.
