Star Wars 9 trailer: BAD news for fans – Is THIS the release date now?

There is another disturbance in The Force. Fans were hoping for the first teaser trailer this week but now Mary Poppins and Aquaman have opened in the US and worldwide, Disney will want to leave some space for them to shine. Further reports that something may be coming around Christmas Day are now being downgraded to potential first images or perhaps the title. Now delays have become “significant delays” which puts everything back where it started and means fans may have to wait until the next huge US diary date which is almost two months aways.

A new report leaves fans facing the likelihood that February 3 will be the day the first teaser trailer for Episode 9 arrives.

The leak said: “When it comes to the actual footage for Episode 9, we heard recently there would be a delay with the teaser. However, now we’ve heard there will be a significant delay. We won’t see it until some point in the first quarter of 2019. Which means January, February or March, some time before Star Wars Celebration when we get the full trailer. In fact, Super Bowl 2019 is the most likely date.”

Star Wars and Marvel, like every major studio, often use Super Bowl as the moment to reveal the first look at their biggest projects.

There have been persistent reports that Disney has a full twelve-month marketing strategy for Star Wars 9, which means it is due to start immediately since the movie hits cinemas worldwide on December 19 and 20, 2019.

Unfortunately it looks like they are going to follow the Marvel Avengers pattern of building tension and anticipation to unbearable levels before finally revealing anything.

The current latest leak on Reddit claims a new and unexpected film title for Star Wars 9, which revolves around Kylo Ren.

Meanwhile, fans are desperate for a first look at Leia, Luke and the hugely-anticipated return of Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian.

A Christmas Daty gift is still a posibility, but it is looking increasingly likely Disney is focussing of their own family-orientated properties like Mary Poppins, plus the upcoming Lion King, Aladdin and Dumbo live action remakes.
