Vice trailer: Christian Bale is UNRECOGNISABLE as Dick Cheney – WATCH
The 44-year-old actor is well known for his physical transformations for new acting roles.
He’s been super skinny for The Machinist, podgy for American Hustle and stacked for The Dark Knight trilogy and American Psycho.
But now Bale has gone full dad bod to portray former Vice President Dick Cheney in Adam McKay’s Vice.
The actor is almost completely unrecognisable in the first trailer, which includes his full on beer gut.
The film also stars Sam Rockwell as George W Bush and sees Amy Adams play Lynne Cheney and Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld.
Vice follows Cheney’s political rise to power from being Gerald Ford’s White House Chief of Staff, to Secretary of State for Defence under George H W Bush.
Before peaking by becoming the most powerful Vice President in US history.
With a Christmas release in the US, this is looking like another big contender for the Oscars after McKay’s The Big Short just a couple of years ago.
